A Chordodes formosanus starts its journey in the gut of a praying mantis. In its larvae form, it stays dormant, feeding on the the praying mantis’ meals. As it grows, it begins to break out of the gut of its host and travels into its other interior organs. One by one, the parasite begins to ingest each vital organ. However, it does not kill it.
